Leah Mojer

Communications + Marketing

Leah Mojer grew up in the restaurant industry in central Massachusetts and made her way to Nantucket in the 2000s after attending culinary school in the South. A deep love for small farms, cheesemaking, and the craft of charcuterie led her to spend a decade at Bartlett’s Farm, where she built a thriving wine and cheese program and ran the farm’s marketing from 2018 to 2023. In early 2025, she joined Sustainable Nantucket as their Communications and Marketing Manager, bringing her passion for storytelling, community engagement, and creative strategy to the role.

After realizing how little local education and access there was around native plants, Leah launched Nantucket Wildscapes, an initiative dedicated to making ecological landscaping more accessible and helping islanders create habitat-rich spaces. She also joined the Mentor Farmer Program at Mt. Vernon Farm, a Land Bank property, with In Situ Native Plant Nursery, which aims to expand access to Nantucket native ecotype and regional plants and flowers to island homeowners and landscapers.

Leah is also the founder of the Nantucket Litter Derby, a grassroots competition which has removed 43 tons of trash from the island’s environment since 2019. A passionate cook, freelance writer for Edible Cape Cod, and artist working in watercolor and clay, she lives with her partner, a commercial scalloper and lobsterman, and their rescue dog, Isla—who she found and rescued while spending an extended time in Mexico, scuba diving near Tulum.

Outside of work, you’ll find Leah clamming in Madaket, exploring Nantucket’s open spaces, or tending to her backyard where she’s rewilding the landscape, growing heirloom crops, and working toward Audubon certification.
