Shannon Schuster

Celebrating her third year at the Sustainable Nantucket Market, Shannon Schuster is a local artist best known for her acrylic pours, abstract beach scenes, and vibrant colors. Since washing ashore in 2006, Nantucket has provided a constant source of inspiration for her canvases. Shannon’s mastery of composition and color come from decades spent as a professional photographer and theater producer in Japan, where she also raised her five children. Now that they are all grown up (several with children of their own!), Shannon finally has time to embrace a quieter life at her Surfside home. From bright fields of flowers and ship masts rising through the fog, to waves crashing on shore and turquoise tidepools left behind, Shannon aims to create works that will keep summer memories alive all year long.
